Notion has updated its Tabs block to allow users to toggle between “Text and icon”, “Text only”, and a new, ultra-minimalist “Icon only” display mode.

This update is a major aesthetic and functional win for complex dashboard design. By allowing tabs to be displayed as icons only, users can significantly save horizontal screen real estate, fitting more navigation options into a single row without overwhelming the UI with text.

To enable this, right-click (or click the six-dot menu) on any tab in a Tabs block, select “Display as”, and choose “Icon only” from the dropdown menu.
